Our Trip to Louisiana

Dear Friends and Family,

As some of you may already know, we are planning to head down to Louisiana to assist in the animal rescue efforts. We will arrive into Jackson, MS early on the morning of October 8th and drive down to Raceland, LA. Along the way, we will be stocking up on supplies for both the pets and the volunteers! Upon our arrival in Raceland, we will join the Pasado's Safe Haven group. Please feel free to check out their website at http://www.pasadosafehaven.org/ They post daily updates on the animals and their wonderful efforts to reunite these pets with their owners.

We intend to stay for one week, returning on October 14th. With some great stroke of luck, we have secured a hotel room with internet access, so we hope to update this blog daily. Please check it every so often if you would like to see how everyone is doing. We'll also try to post some photos and pass along as many stories as we can.

We recognize that this trip is not going to be easy or cheap. We are using mileage tickets to fly down there and we're using our own funds to rent a car/hotel and purchase supplies. PetFood Express has kindly donated leashes, collars, dog treats and brushes for us to take! And a local pet store, redhound has offered many items that the local community has dropped off at their Oakland store.

Sponsor the transport of a dog back to the Bay Area for fostering: $250
