1st Day on the Job!!!
Hi Everyone,
It is about 10:45 pm right now and we have to wake up at 5:45am to head back to the shelter, so please excuse this brief entry. We
arrived at the shelter today and after a short tour and an evenshorter training session, we quickly went to work walking the dogs and cleaning the kennels. We learned how to feed the dogs,
how to walk them properly and all about the specific areas of the shelter: the triage area, the puppy room, cat room, contagious area, the "aggresive" area and the safe zone.
As we were emptying our car of all the supplies, we bumped into a volunteer who had been there for weeks. She was on her way out to
Houston with a cat to be reuinted with her owner. And from there she
would head home to Colorado with her new adopted dog "Buddy". We quickly offered her a new collar and brush for her sweet Buddy!Pasado was so happy with everything we brought!! All the collars, leashes and treats from Petfood Express and most of all, the beds that our friend Kimberly had made for the dogs and cats! They are a VERY popular item out here!! The animals send a big THANK YOU!!!!
There is much more to write, but the clock is ticking away so we must get some sleep. We promise to fill you in tomorrow with more photos and stories!!

I sounds like a lot of hard work and that you two have already made a lot of two and four legged friends. Keep up the good work!!! We'll make sure the Parkway knows that you two are OK when you don't show up this week.
